Wuthering hawthorns, Twistleton Scar

The trees on Twistleton Scar bear witness to the weather that can batter the limestone pavement up here. It's not a place I visit as often as I'd like, but I'm always drawn to these wonderful hawthorn trees, photographed here before a massive downpour ensured a very wet walk back to the car.
