Portrait of a beech tree in Autumn, Strid Woods

​This huge and magnificent beech tree (Fagus) was in its Autumn prime, on the edge of Strid Woods in Wharfedale, with the rain gently falling - a lovely combination of Autumn colour, with enough leaves fallen to reveal the powerful and complex network of trunk and branches beneath.
