Seasonal guide to the North York Moors in Outdoor Photography

Posted on 15th April, 2012

Outdoor Photography produce an annual guide to Britain's National Parks. This year, they went for something a little different, featuring one large image per national park and a mini guide to some of the best locations in the area, season by season. Quite a challenge to limit yourself to a few great locations when there are just so many to choose!

This particular image is from two years ago and was taken on a gloriously clear evening in late Spring. I used strong polarisation to emphasise the vivid blue sky and green barley. My favourite image from this viewpoint is a winter's image (in my North Yorkshire Gallery) when, with no crops to trample, I was able to get closer to the lovely oak tree and so have a bit more control over the composition.
