Stipa gigantea

A single seedhead from the statuesque grass that is Stipa gigantea. We have a couple of these plants growing in the garden and they make a wonderful subject to photograph. Here I have used the tall grass stems as a backdrop to the seedhead, with a close focussing macro lens ensuring the stems are thrown well out of focus.
