Gnarled birches, Cairngorms

A wonderful patch of birch woodland in the Cairngorms - exotically gnarled and their leaves displaying rich and vibrant autumn colour. I loved the strong shapes of these trees and a dreich, mizzly morning helped to soften the backdrop.
